    Dettagli

The JET drive, also known as a hydrojet, is primarily used on exclusive and high-speed yachts, ferries, racing boats and similar. In principle, this drive consists of a pump, which draws water in through an opening in the bottom of the boat, accelerates it via an impeller and discharges it again through an opening in the stern. Newton's Law comes into play here, which states that the water jet expelled to the rear produces an equal response on the hull directed towards the front. Boats with a jet drive can sail in very shallow waters, as there is no need for any of the parts usually located beneath the hull, such as a propeller, shaft, propeller strut or rudder. In addition, the starting acceleration is very high, which is extremely beneficial for dragster boats in particular. No listing torque is generated either, unlike with a conventional ship's propeller. Since with a JET drive the water has to travel long distances in narrow channels, a natural consequence is friction loss that requires slightly more energy than with a conventional drive. The reverser can be actuated to deflect the water jet forwards, causing the boat to travel backwards. To be highly effective, the motor speed during reversing may only be 1/3 to 1/2 of the maximum speed. Model builders can run their own tests to determine a range of ways to adapt the efficiency of the drive to their own model and improve it still further. Suitable for SPEED 700 series electric motors. However, BRUSHLESS motors can also be used as desired. The JET drive 2, JET drive 2 booster, JET drive 3 booster and JET drive 4 units have been designed for direct drive. The JET drive 5 is a further development of the JET drive 4. The redesigned control nozzle and reversing flap have resulted in a much more intricate version of the JET drive. Since the housing shape of the JET drive corresponds to that of JET drive 4, it can be used instead of its predecessor. The intake tube and the discharge nozzle are made of particularly sturdy die-cast aluminium and the plastic parts of glass-fibre-reinforced material. The impeller shaft is twin-ballraced. The JET drive is ideal for combustion motors, since reversing is performed by actuating the reversing flap, not by changing the motor's direction of rotation. The cooling water connection is integrated in the control nozzle. Combustion motors with a capacity of 15 cm³ to 30 cm³ and electric motors with an output of over 700 watts are suitable as a drive. Servos with an adjusting power of over 5 kg/cm (e.g. C 4621, order no. 5126) are recommended for control purposes. If a JET drive 5 is used in the AZIMUT ATLANTIC CHALLENGER with combustion motor, the hull must also be reinforced with 2 layers of 300 g/m³ GRP, the 4 openings in the stern laminated closed and a new one incorporated. For an electric version, it is recommended to use 1 or 2 JET drive 5 devices, each with a direct-driven ULTRA electric motor. The hull should be reinforced a little in this case too and the openings modified accordingly. Suitable motors General recommendations: powerful motors with a maximum speed of approx. 15,000 rpm, such as: - Petrol combustion motors with approx. 26 ccm - Electric motors with approx. 3 to 4 kW The flexible 3-pin coupling order no. 2221 and 2221.1 can be used to connect the motor to the JET drive. Impeller Ø: 49 mm
